Village Plan from 1981

In 1981 a Village Plan was generated primarily to define what the residents of the village would like to see how their village develop over the next 10 years. It mainly relates to additional housing in the village, but does cover other aspects of village life.

Since this plan was formed, circumstances have changed in and around the village - primarily relating the main road running between Little Beckford and Beckford. Since this plan, this road has been upgraded to a major trunk road (the A46) from a standard 'A' road (the A435), without any consultation with the villagers.

With the increase in traffic on the A46, a proposal was made to create a bypass for both Little Beckford and Beckford and was all but approved when a change of government took place and the whole proposal was scrapped.
